July + August Recap
July and August brought plenty of activity to Happy Hüt Sanctüary, with exciting developments in education, health and safety, community engagement, and the continued growth of our children and staff. From the classroom to the wider community, these past two months have given us many reasons to learn, celebrate, and look ahead with hope.
We successfully organized our inaugural “Fruit Day” at school, aimed at teaching our children the values associated with various fruits, as well as introducing them to different types and tastes. This event also served as a celebration of Teachers’ Day, honoring our educators for their dedication to the sanctuary. The teachers proudly acquired navy blue tracksuits that were presented to them as a gift during Fruit Day.

New Vehicle Maintenance

In July, we shared the exciting news about acquiring our first used vehicle. This vehicle is essential for Kakeeto to transport food and supplies to the orphanage. However, after a few months of use, Kakeeto discovered it requires four new tires, each costing $57. We are seeking four kind-hearted individuals to assist Kakeeto in ensuring the continued delivery of vital food and supplies. You can make a one-time gift of love on our support page. Thank you for your generosity this September!
Anti-Ebola Training

As the world grapples with the EBOLA outbreak, which has affected our country through the cases found in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), we conducted comprehensive training for our children. This initiative focused on methods to prevent the spread of the disease, including regular handwashing techniques and social distancing practices.
Mid Term Exams

In Uganda, we operate on a three-term academic calendar, with each term lasting three months and a holiday break in between. To assess our students’ abilities, we administered two sets of examinations at the end of this term—one set internally created by our teachers and the other conducted by an external company known as “The Prime Consult.”
Also in Learning: Over the past two months, we also held a debate to enhance our learners’ communication skills, public speaking abilities, and audibility.
